Alamosa
Alamosa, Colorado. It's far away. It's a bit down & out. It's sort of pretty but not stunning. It lacks a single decent diner. But it has sandhill cranes this time of year so I dragged the whole family down for a visit.
Sara was a HUGE fan of the Great Sand Dunes. She ran around like a maniac, exhausted herself, fell asleep in the car on the way back to the Super Duper 8 Motel and then got her second wind and stayed up til midnight. At which point I put her back in the car & drove her around until she fell asleep.

She was also a huge fan of the horses and the little horse drawn wagon ride we went on.

And even more exciting, a piece of pink ribbony stuff hanging off a gate. Wow!

We did also see sandhill cranes. Of course I forgot to take much in the way of pictures except this blurry experiment (I stuck the camera on the scope).

more pics, mostly of Sara running amok in the Sand Dunes >
