Let the Games Begin
OK, we came from vacation full of remodelling vim & vigor. Two trips to Home Depot have already been made in the 30 hours since we landed.
Hot off the press, here is a report from Mike, lead "de-knock-down-er" and staircase paint remover.
I sanded a part of a wall in the closet and it only took about 10 minutes to clear a 3 foot by 4 foot, or so, area. I rigged up a way to attached the sander to the shop vac, so it isn't so dusty. Also, it looks like I will be able to strip the stairs with a reasonable amount of work. I'm trying a chemical stripper now, but I bought a thing that turns a power drill into that paint-eater thing we looked at. Also, the stairs aren't painted fully - when I pull up the carped, the middle of the wood is not painted which will make stripping a lot easier. I'll wait until you get home before I start ripping out carpet off of stairs and sanding more walls, etc.
Pictures soon to show you what the heck we're talking about!
